"A commercial I wrote and produced for Crown Zellerbach's Zee paper
products had a man placing a roll of Zee paper towels in a player piano
to see if it would play "Japanese Sandman." This was the first time
anybody had ever starte a commercial in the middle of a conversation, a
device I occasionally use to this day:
MAN: She waht?
GUY: This lady says she put a roll of Zee paper towels
in her player piano and it played the song "Japanese Sandman."
MAN: Wait a minute. Zee towels are very versatile,
but I doubt they'll play "Japanese Sandman."
GUY: All righty.
SOUND: PEDALS PUMPING PIANO MUSIC; SINGERS AND ORCHESTRA
PLAY ZEE JINGLE. AS IT CONCLUDES, WE HEAR THE FLAP! FLAP! FLAP! FLAP!
FLAP! OF PIANO ROLL WINDING DOWN.
MAN: See, I told you it wouldn't play "Japanese Sandman.""
